It is recommended to reposition the patient at least every 3 hours during the day and every 4 hours during nighttime rest (if using a special mattress, consult your primary care nurse to determine the appropriate repositioning frequency)
Alternate positions in a consistent sequence (unless a healthcare professional advises against using any of the positions):
- 30º RIGHT lateral tilt position
- Supine position
- 30º LEFT lateral tilt position
Always inspect pressure points each time you reposition the patient laterally, as well as the skin in areas exposed to incontinence when changing the diaper.
